Boundary First UX treats the interface as an operational boundary: it should expose state, afford lawful action, prevent invalid transitions, preserve identity and provenance through transformation, and make recovery obvious.
Human-system boundary
Boundary First UX
Represent the domain faithfully enough that navigation and interaction correspond to intelligible traversal through the system.
CURRENT PUBLIC RECORD
What this work currently says.
This website is itself a live demonstration: tree orientation over a graph, typed transitions, a persistent boundary frame, through-inspection, and gestalt zoom. The retained standard adds a larger grammar of orient, traverse, inspect, reveal, reframe, trace, stress, repair, and promote.
Retained BFUX semantics
Resolution and motion grammar
The existing BFUX record already defines motion as semantics rather than decoration, which directly grounds the new spine interaction model.
- 01
Lateral motion means Traverse.
- 02
Through-screen motion means Reveal.
- 03
World rotation means Reframe.
- 04
Zoom beyond frame means Promote.
- 05
Accessibility requires keyboard completeness, reduced-motion parity, screen-reader semantics, non-spatial alternatives, and no color- or position-only essential meaning.
